I wanted to appraise my beloved readers of an extremely exciting third-party Vaarn project which is being developed by Jacob Marks, game designer and member of the Vaarn discord server. This project is the Vaarn Atlas, an an in-game artefact, toy, generator, and tool that creates interactive maps of Vaarn’s Interior in accordance with the procedures in Issue #3.
I cannot stress enough how incredible this project is – the Atlas is created in Unity and fully animated, with music, custom graphics, and even some easter eggs! If you have even a passing interest in my work, you must check out the Vaarn Atlas immediately.
It’s also really beautiful, using a limited palette and ASCII-style sprites. There’s even a world map, based on the map in this old post:

I think it goes without saying that I’m very impressed by the Atlas, and I know Jacob’s looking to add more content to it as the world of the zines grows.
The aestheticc is thicc. I need to contact Marks to make more music like this.

I believe the music was made with 1BITDRAGON. Agree that its incredible, really suits the vibe. I think he was inspired by the Caves of Qud soundtrack.

Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it. It has been a very long time since I’ve done music, so it has been a ton of fun learning/re-learning for this project.

This Atlas is so cool. I hope I get to use it if my players decide to travel into some unprepared chunk of jungle.
