I had the pleasure last week of running Vaults of Vaarn 2E live on Twitch for the Weekly Scroll Podcast hosts and Chris P Wolf of Offworlders fame!1 There’s now a video of the session on YouTube and an audio podcast version on Spotify. We also talk about the creative direction that I’ve taken with VOV 2E, regarding expanding an already complete project and my plans for the future of the setting.
Hunter and Ryan were awesome hosts and I had a good time GMing live on stream, it was a good opportunity to put my skills to the test. I think we hit a nice combination of exploration, combat, mystery, and getting merked by a laser trap for 3d6 damage. We’re hoping to record a follow up at some point soon, but for now I think this is a good demo of how 2E plays in practise.
- I didn’t mention on stream but Chris also authored a great series of Actual Play reports called Thursdays in Thracia, which was really formative for me getting into the OSR in 2019. So it felt like an honor to get to GM for him all these years later! ↩︎
